On a snowy winter evening in 2006, Red Lodge locals, Jean Atherly, Kevin Luoma and Russell Irish were at Sam’s Taproom discussing music and decided to join forces to bring quality live music to Red Lodge and to help promote the numerous talented musicians living in this small mountain community.

Area locals know that the name 3 Pints is a tribute to Sam’s Taproom, a place where on any given night, meetings are being held by a variety of community groups.  Patrons are limited to only 3 pints, so, as the sign says, “you must choose wisely.”  We pride ourselves on choosing only fresh, original music, bands that are talented, new, different and worthy of seeing live.  We choose wisely.
